Communion
In Communion [a person] receives spiritual nourishment.
St Philaret, metropolitan of Moscow.
Holy Communion is a Sacrament in which the believer consumes under the guise of bread and wine, the very Body and Blood of Christ for eternal life. This Sacrament is also called the Eucharist. The word ‘Eucharist’ has its origins in the Greek word for ‘gratitude’.
